Blazing Saddles in San Francisco {Canberra Family Photographer}

Scott and I decided a great way to see some of the San Francisco Bay area was by hiring a mountain bike.  We rode across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito where we enjoyed a lovely seaside meal.  When we retire or win the lotto we’re definitely buying a home here.  We continued along the Bay to the picturesque town of Tiburon, where we stopped to watch a little league game -We were a little sad when the day came to an end and we had to board the ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf.  (But, we were definitely not riding back! – our butts weren’t up for another 30km of riding).

There were some strenuous but rewarding climbs, but the rest was easy pedaling – exploring the San Francisco Bay Area by bike is definitely something I would recommend.  We are completed exhausted, but we had an amazing day.

Death Valley {Canberra Photographer}

Our journey continued to Death Valley.  The name itself evokes all that is harsh and hot.   Yet it attracts so many people who want to discover and explore this wonderland.

Scott and I wanted to explore the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes. We worked out a couple of things – take plenty of water, even if it is only 25 degrees (c) and more importantly, when you say “that doesn’t look to far away” well it probably is!

I was intending to take some photos of the massive dunes.  As you can see below, i did take some photos of the dunes, but quite a bit further away then i had hoped…it was hot and not much fun walking through the fine sand in my converse all-stars… all the other hikers had back packs full of water and snacks and wore very comfortable hiking boots.  We had, well nothing… :)  So i hope you can still enjoy my images of the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, even if they are far away…  It is a truly amazing place.
