I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Amy for her sixteenth birthday. Such a special age! We had such a fun time together. Amy got a fabulous SLR camera for her birthday so it was great to be able to give her some tips about photography and lighting.

I bought some fabulous yellow balloons for our session to add a bit of fun and colour. I hope you like them Amy and Happy Sweet Sixteen!

I headed out to go to my 2nd photo session of the day to meet little Addisyn. Poor little Addisyn was coming down with a cold and really wasn’t up to a photo session – but i did manage to capture these images. She really is beautiful…look at those eyes…stay tuned for baby Addisyn, i’ll be visiting her again really soon…

A very special christening {Canberra Baby Photographer}

It was so very cold and so foggy this morning…I was so worried that my session first thing this morning would be tough on little Caelin. But this little guy was amazing…he did not stop smiling! Caelin was christened recently but their camera failed them on the day. Jacque contacted me and wanted to capture and have memories of little Caelin in his special christening gown.

I had such a fun time, with so many laughs. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and thank you for braving such a cold, foggy morning. I truly had such a great time and I can’t wait to catch up with you all again.

Soul Happy {canberra childhood photographer}

I have just started a wonderful online photography course and my first task was to capture what brings me joy and what makes up my dreams. I was asked what ’soul happy’ means to me. One of the things that makes me ’soul happy’ is my photography. I truly have an amazing job – i go to people’s homes and spend time playing and laughing with their children – sitting and chatting with such truly special families. I have met the most wonderful, kind and special families and have made so many special friendships through my job as a childhood photographer.

I always get so excited and nervous before each session…

You have all seen these two gorgeous children before – Phoebe and Max…here is a sneak peak from my fun session with them today… Phoebe, Max – i can’t wait till next time…!

Who loves photography? {Canberra portrait photographer}

I’m going to start sharing some photography tips on my blog with everyone out there who loves photography. I get emails from so many people looking for advice on how to take better pictures of their family and kids. I hope that you can find some good information here and be inspired! I would love to hear from you - If you have any particular questions please email me, I would love to help you get that perfect image.

I also want to give some advice to anyone out there thinking about getting some photos taken by a professional photographer – everything from helping you decide what to wear to helping you choose the perfect locations for your session.

I wanted to start with locations…This advice is for both you as a photographer’s client but more importantly for you as a mum, dad, or anyone wanting to find a great place to take photos.

I get a ton of emails asking about where should they have their photos taken. I look everywhere… I spend time driving around and going for walks trying to find unique locations. I’m always trying to look at things a little bit differently . When i take my clients to a alley or a grungy location to shoot they always say, “i would have never thought to shoot here!” And they are even more surprised when they get their images back and that alley looks great in their images. I love to find the beauty in everything. You don’t have to shoot at a park or field to make your pictures beautiful. Brightly colored walls with grungy textures are beautiful too! If you are getting photos taken by a professional photographer, maybe pick a location that has meaning to you.

Challenge yourself to think outside of the box! Just open up your eyes and look for beauty everywhere!

Beautiful photography keepsakes {Canberra newborn photographer}

I’m not sure if many of you aware but my mother was Polish. She immigrated to Australia, with my sister, not knowing a word of English. I was born in Australia and I am extremely proud of my Polish heritage and I’m excited to be stocking Kasi Jacquot products. Kasia has been running Laikonik since 2005 hand making and selling her products through various retailers. Most of her products feature Polish folk art motifs which have been her inspiration for many years.

I am so excited to introduce these new products to my collections. I have been wanting to give my clients something unique and special for some time but was never able to find anything that I loved enough – well until I found the “Once a Year Books” and the “Photograms”. Once a year books

Chronicle your child’s first 18 years in this beautiful and easy to keep book. Insert just one photo per year and add a brief description of that year on the corresponding page. Also included is a ‘Chatter Book’ which is a small notebook for keeping a record of the child’s first words and funny sayings. Each Once-A-Year Book slips into a beautiful hemp bag which has been silk screen printed and features a Polish inspired folk-art motif. The books are hand made in Australia using eco-friendly materials and high quality acid free album pages.

Photograms

A Photogram is for sending a letter, four photos and a gift all in one to someone you love. It opens up like a little concertina and can be stood up like a frame to display the photos. There is a place to write a brief letter to someone and it also comes with a beautiful postal wrapper ready for sending. They are perfect to send to dear friends on special occasions or to family overseas.They made great birth announcements or even wedding thank you’s to your special guests.
