About Me
Short version. I’m a natural light photographer based in Canberra. My focus is on childhood photography…and anything else that takes my fancy.
Long version. My name is Beata. I’m just a girl with a camera and a love of photography and art. I have had a passion for photography for as long as I can remember. I love laughing, chocolate, and anything vintage. I’m basically addicted to Chai lattes and banana bread. I am passionate about relationships and learning peoples’ stories – what makes them who they are. I love listening to music. I am addicted to roller-skating, knee-high socks and I love roller derby! I love fun, quirky and funky fashion. I love all things vintage. I love lomo and polaroid images! I love to people watch and I love to travel. I believe that life is art…and I love taking photos. Lots of them.
I strive to capture children as they are. Forgoing forced smiles and poses; I embrace the natural smiles and expressions that your child gives. If you are after a traditional photo session where everyone lines up in a row finding something to smile about, then I am not the photographer for you. I shoot candid, fun images and I love to capture special details and real moments.
My style is not for everyone, so be sure to take a look at my portfolio before deciding I am the photographer for you. Sessions with me are very relaxed. I am not one for stiff, cheesy smiles. I love to photograph in familiar surroundings and locations that reflect back the personality of my subjects.
While children are my focus, I love the diversity of my other photography as well. If you have any ideas for a unique photographic project that is outside the realm of anything you see, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m always up for an adventure.
